04 dezembro 2013

This year’s Vodafone Rally de Portugal generated an economic revenue of 101.734 million Euros.
The Algarve University study for the 2013 edition of the Rally shows that more than half of the revenue – 54.1 million Euros – stands for direct expenses, of which 51,5% produced by non-nationals. This means an increase of 1.5 millions in comparison to 2012 and more 4.5 millions than in 2011.
At the same time, the indirect revenue of the event – resulting from the rally’s visibility on the media – has generated an impact of 47.550 million Euros, of which 39,913 millions abroad and 11,637 millions in Portugal.
The conclusion of the study by the International Territory and Tourism Research Centre of the Algarve University is very clear: “It is an event with national and international relevance. ACP’s constant innovation of the rally has ensured national and international projection of the region’s image, while generating relevant economic flows which have been consolidated and increased throughout time. It is a strong issue of the national tourism economy, a reference in terms of identity and projection of Portugal’s image internationally.”
