Ostberg first on the road for Day Two

13 abril 2013

Following the dramas on the first day of the 2013 Vodafone Rally de Portugal, it appears as if the front runners will all be competing again on the second day of the event. Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team driver Mads Ostberg will be first on the road, after rolling out of the first day on the third stage.

Volkswagen motorsport II driver Andreas Mikklesen will be second, after losing time yesterday with power steering problems and Abu Dhabi Citroen Total World Rally Team pilot Khalid Al Qassimi will be third, following clutch issues.

Robert Kubica returns for the second day, having been forced to retire when he picked up more punctures than he had spare tyres for while PG Andersson’s Fiesta S2000 was repaired after his suspension collapsed yesterday.

Michal Kozciuszko appeared to be none the worse after completing the superspecial stage with his bonnet up and touching a wall while local hero Bruno Magalhaes’ Peugeot 207 S2000 had an electrical cable, which broke on day one, replaced.

The first stage of the day starts at 10.09hrs local time.
