Stage Flash - SS10 Fridão 1

23 maio 2015

Car 1, Ogier/Ingrassia
“There’s not enough grip to use the tyres! They’re okay. Nobody had the perfect strategy. Of course now we must perform. There was no line. I’m very happy with my pace though.”

Car 2, Latvala/Anttila
“The drive is good, it’s a long stage, so I’m still happy with the result. It’s really hard. I had a kind of feeling that the tyre was flat after I hit a rock, but it wasn’t and that’s where I lost the feeling.”

Car 3, Meeke/Nagle
“The road’s cleaning quite a lot. I’m impressed with Ogier’s time. But I’m impressed, we’ve made a good choice for this loop.”

Car 4, Ostberg/Andersson
“It’s a difficult stage, I tried my best. The time is not so good, but I understand why. I struggled a bit just to find a good feeling with car. It was amazing yesterday, but I’m not getting it properly today. We’ll go to service and adjust a little bit, I’ll change myself, too!”

Car 6, Tanak/Molder
“It was really tricky to drive. We enjoyed it a lot more though. We had better tyres.”

Car 8, Sordo/Marti
“The screen cracked on the first stage. This one was very difficult to drive, very slippery. You can’t drive the car hard, you know?”

Car 9, Mikkelsen/ Floene
“It was moving around quite a lot, especially towards the end. It’s a long afternoon loop, so we’ll just keep on going, I’m happy now, no risk, just a good rhythm. There are a lot of surface changes in this rally.”

Car 12, Al Qassimi/ Patterson
“Very difficult. It’s unpredictable, I went off at the start but got back onto the stage. Trying to brake is so slippery. I just took it so easy.”

Car 14, Kubica/ Szczepaniak
“A lot of changes of grip, but it has been a good stage for us, a lot of smooth driving. It’s important to stay on the line, if you come off it, it gets quite slippery.”

Car 20, Paddon/Kennard
“It was difficult, we went with the crossed hard and softs. It throws the balance of the car, we managed to struggle on though.”

Car 21, Prokop/Tománek
“It was okay, but the car was understeering. The time was not there. We had a puncture the stage before, but we’re going okay now.”

Car 32, Lefebvre/Prevot
“No, I don’t do good driving. I hope to maybe be better for the second loop.”

Car 36, Krudda/Järveoja
“I think it was the same rock that took out someone else. Maybe I was just over the edge, I hit a cobblestone and it punctured the tyre. We’ve fixed it now, no other damage. One small mistake can change everything.”

Car 40, Ketomaa/Lindstrom
“The repair is quite okay until service. I couldn’t bleed the brakes properly, so we didn’t have full brakes. We’ll try to fix it now again.”

Car 42, Al-Attiyah/Baumel
“Before the stage I lost completely my concentration, I was not happy with how the car was turning. I just hope we make a good time on this stage. I’ll just continue to push.”

Car 43, Tidemand/Axelsson
“It’s maybe in the driving! It was a safe and clean run, everything is working well. I’m happy, we enjoyed it. It’s important for us to finish this rally. We could push harder, but that’s not the target this weekend.”

Car 47, Gorban/Korsia
“Everything is okay. This stage is so, so slippery. On one corner we went off a little bit of the road. But I’m happy.”

Car 50, Grondal/Eilertsen
“No brakes. In the middle of stage one. We bled them, but it didn’t help. Did it here, but again, didn’t help. We almost went off in the hairpin downhill. We put it into road mode to get through. It was a learning really for us, and it really is now. The important thing is the keep the car going and get it to service.”

Car 70, Lappi/Ferm
“We fixed all the things and that’s it, the setup is the same. My driving is a bit better now!”

Car 71, Parn/Morgan
“So much more difficult today, so much more technical. We broke our front left compressions strut earlier, so we were late to the next stage. The rhythm was good after that. It’s not been perfect.”

Car 73, Maurin/Klinger
“We did many KM with the tyre like that after hitting a rock.”

Car 75, Al-Kuwari/Clarke
“Very difficult stage, very long, not easy for the tyres and braking. We were just very clean and no mistake. The plan is to just get to the end.”
