Stage Flash - SS12 Marao 2

23 maio 2015

Car 1, Ogier/Ingrassia
“The stage was OK. There were some rocks in the middle of the stage on the line that I could not avoid. Luckily this time I did not get a puncture.”

Car 2, Latvala/Anttila
“It was quite good. We have full hard tyres and a bit worried that we would lose – I knew Meeke and Ogier had some soft. I had one soft on the first stage but had to go full hard as it was so worn. It was a good run. I think hard tyres for the next one.”

Car 3, Meeke/Nagle
“It's quite hot now. That was a good stage and I am doing what I can do and wherever we end up at the finish is good enough for me.”

Car 4, Ostberg/Andersson
“We have an engine problem and we cannot fix it. It is a broken sensor and we have to do the afternoon with that we are losing a lot of time. It is a shame as the car is really nice to drive. I was hoping for a clean loop – maybe tomorrow.”

Car 6, Tanak/Molder
“The start of the stage was quite nice. There was less traction near the end but not too bad. I am in quite a good mood at the moment. For the last stage, we will keep this pace going.”

Car 8, Sordo/Marti
“The stage was rough – not like yesterday – but it is slippery and hard for the tyres. It is difficult for the balance of the car.”

Car 9, Mikkelsen/ Floene
“There are some really big rocks. I have to try to avoid them – it means coming out of the line and into the loose. I am trying to do something about his [Ogier’s] time at the moment.”

Car 12, Al Qassimi/ Patterson
“I am struggling a little with the rear of the car so I am taking it easy.”

Car 14, Kubica/ Szczepaniak
“We are wheel spinning a lot out of low speed corners.”

Car 20, Paddon/Kennard
“The tyres were working all right. We have to be a bit patient with the turn-in sop the tyres are right but the car is not quite right. We know what to do to rectify it but it might take a rally or two.”

Car 21, Prokop/Tománek
“We tried to change the set-up to make the car better. The springs are too hard but we can't change that. I had a strange feeling with the car. It felt like a puncture but then, it felt like it was in the diff but the time was not so bad.”

Car 32, Lefebvre/Prevot
“The stage was OK. It is not easy. The time is not fantastic but it is not bad.”

Car 40, Ketomaa/Lindstrom
“I am not pushing too hard. The feeling is not so good after all the troubles we had this morning. I just want to get through without any troubles now.”

Car 41, Fuchs/ Mussano
“It was very slippery but I changed a few things on the car and it was a bit better. The hard tyres are Ok, I think.”

Car 42, Al-Attiyah/Baumel
“This morning we had the hard tyres and I know it wasn’t working. This afternoon it was a really good run. At least we have four soft tyres for tomorrow. Shorter stages and only one long one. Tomorrow with the soft tyres will be good.”

Car 43, Tidemand/Axelsson
“No problems at all – it was a clean run and it is going well. I am happy.”

Car 47, Gorban/Korsia
“We had another puncture – one on the last stage and one on this one. We have two spares but must be careful on the long stage.”

Car 50, Grondal/Eilertsen
“We still have problems with the brakes. I don't know what the problem is. The team changed pretty much everything and it is actually worse. I have to drive in road mode through the stage, as I have almost no brakes at all. It is safe for the road section but not to go fast.”

Car 60, Gilbert/Jamoul
“That one was ok – we took it carefully and we try to keep the gap now.”

Car 70, Lappi/Ferm
“I don’t think we are battling with Nasser. We lost so much on the last one and half a minute is too much. On the long one he can push much more than I can and second after yesterday is fantastic. I enjoyed the first loop but now, it is not so enjoyable dodging the rocks.”

Car 71, Parn/Morgan
“Now, in the afternoon, the first stage was very rough – I think something happened with the car and on the road section, we tried to see what was wrong but we could not find it. On this stage, we just drove but something is affecting the speed. I don't know what.”

Car 73, Maurin/Klinger
“It is a difficult rally – incredible! Everyone took soft tyres yesterday and we took hard. It was difficult and today we tried soft and it wasn’t the right choice. We have to push but now, it is difficult.”

Car 75, Al-Kuwari/Clarke
“We are on the hard tyres, as it is getting warm. The long stage will need hard ones.”
