Stage Flash - SS14 Loulé 1

06 abril 2014

Car 1, Ogier/Ingrassia
“We’re saving the tyres. We’re going to push hard, but of course I’m going to drive fast and try and get point, but I and to save the tyres. Pushing isn’t the priority for the power stage.”

Car 2, Latvala/Anttila
“The stage was still damp, very technical. I’m surprised that the grip is so good.”

Car 4, Ostberg/Anderson
“We just keep it very steady on this stage to save the tyres, and we will do on the next one too. Then we’ll go flat out back here.”

Car 5, Hirvonen/Lehtinen
“I try to manage the tyres. We did quite a lot on that one, but it’s okay. We’ll watch the gap.”

Car 6, Evans/Barritt
“It wasn’t easy, it was damp, quite a bit loose in places. It’s quite technical and fast, quite tough with no lines tomorrow.”

Car 7, Neuville/Gilsoul
“For me it was okay, I had a good clean run. My tyres are quite worn on the rear so it’s quite slippery. The setup is quite okay, I think we can still improve but we have to do some more testing on the damping side.”

Car 8, Hänninen/Tuominen
"I went wide quite close to the start and hit a tree but we were able to carry on.”

Car 9, Mikkelsen/ Markkula
“It’s very tricky, I didn’t have a good stage to be honest. Not a rhythm. Not a good stage.”

Car 12, Al Qassimi/ Patterson
“It’s quite blind and foggy in the beginning. I’m not happy, not happy with that stage.”

Car 16, Solberg/Minor
“It’s okay, but I have to fix something on the car – a minor adjustment. I don’t think I can tell you what it is.”

Car 21, Prokop/Tománek
“I didn’t see any line. It was a really bad stage, we made the pace notes not in the fog. It was bad. We lost a lot of time to the Hyundai guys. We’re not happy.”

Car 35, Ketomaa/Lindstrom
“It’s coming quite okay, it looks like nothing is going very well. There’s nothing I can do at the moment, it was a clear stage and I pushed. We just try to do our best. We’ll keep this rhythm.”

Car 36, Barrable/Loudon
“A lovely stage, bit foggy at the start but then it opens up and it’s lovely. Quite tricky, no room for error. But yeah, I enjoyed it, a god stage.”

Car 40, Al-Attiyah/Bernacchini
“It was good, a good morning and a good start. We’ll just see where we are now. I’m sure Ketomaa will push, but we’ll push too.”

Car 42, Tidemand/Floene
“It’s going well, we need to push a little bit. It’s easy to over drive though, so no mistake.”

Car 43, Sousa/Magalhães
“Pretty much okay, we were losing power on the turbo sometimes but it was coming back. Today though it’s pretty much good.”

Car 44, Maurin/Klinger
“A good start, but I need to finish so I don’t take risks, but it’s okay.”

Car 54, Riedemann/ Vanneste
“I drove very carefully, I have no interest to push. I just want to keep my position.”

Car 56, Koci/ Kostka
“I made a small mistake and hit a bank, there is some damage on the rear left. It’s nothing serious.”

Car 57, Lefebvre/Dubois
“No risk at all because I have enough gap, if I have to push in the next stage I will do that.”

Car 61, Della Casa/ Pozzi
“Not enough soft tyres for today, so I used the hard tyres. I had no choice.”

Car 65, Campedelli/ Fappani
“We just tried to score some points, everything went fine.”

Car 70, Kruuda/Jäveoja
“I think the lead just got a bit bigger. This morning I did a couple of mistakes, too much braking and lost time. I messed up the big junction. Like I said in Sweden, nothing is over until the finish line is over.”
