Stage Flash - SS15 São Brás de Alportel 1

06 abril 2014

Car 1, Ogier/Ingrassia
“We are cruising now. I cannot say I will take it easy on the Power Stage. I will start with a good rhythm, look at the splits and see what to do.”

Car 2, Latvala/Anttila
“We had a very good first stage this morning. This stage we tried to take very easily in the beginning and go faster at the end. I think we managed to save the tyres so hopefully we should be good [for the Power Stage].”

Car 4, Ostberg/Anderson
“It was very slippery in places and easy to make a mistake. I enjoyed it and it was good fun – very nice. The time was not so bad.”

Car 5, Hirvonen/Lehtinen
“I had a bit of a push on that stage. It has been a good weekend. It is going so well now.”

Car 6, Evans/Barritt
“The first part is similar but the last few Km are very wet in places. We knew this from the recce. It isn't easy to pick your place where you can go fast – sometimes OK and sometimes very close to the edge.”

Car 7, Neuville/Gilsoul
“That was very tricky. I have no tyres left and on the last muddy section I was very careful. At the moment, I am just driving through the stage and not pushing at all.”

Car 8, Hänninen/Tuominen
“Not everything is good. We went off and the steering wheel is not straight. It is OK – running with no problem.”

Car 9, Mikkelsen/ Markkula
“This rally is just carnage but my confidence is back again. The rhythm was much better and I am trying to beat Henning for fourth. ”

Car 12, Al Qassimi/ Patterson
“I think this stage was very slippery. The first section was a good, hard base. After the mid-point, a lot of water and mud.”

Car 16, Solberg/Minor
“It is ok now but he was too fast [Mikkelsen]. I will try to keep my position. ”

Car 21, Prokop/Tománek
“We had a flat tyre on the front but luckily it stayed on the wheel. We had to take care on the right corners. I was going straight over a corner and there was a big stone – I felt the hit.”

Car 35, Ketomaa/Lindstrom
“I am really pushing. I managed to make some changes to the car and hopefully we can get closer to him. But we had a huge moment there in this stage – we hit a tree on the left side of the car, over a crest.”

Car 36, Barrable/Loudon
“On the last few corners, there was something inside one of the corners and we hit it, knocking us to the side. This was a very difficult stage”

Car 39, Gorban/Korsia
“McCormack had a little crash. It was very slippery and we drove very slowly for the finish.”

Car 40, Al-Attiyah/Bernacchini
“This one was very tricky – a lot of mud but we are not taking any risks. We will look at Jari and see where we are and make sure we get to the end. I say to myself enjoy this rally – it is really important.”

Car 42, Tidemand/Floene
“We were trying there. It is going well and it is fine.”

Car 43, Sousa/Magalhães
“I don't know what the problem is – maybe the exhaust is broken. Even if it doesn't want to get me to the finish, I will carry it.” [Engine noise problems]

Car 44, Maurin/Klinger
“Everything is bad. We have a puncture and an alternator is broken.”

Car 45, Aksa/Arena
“My back is OK, as long as I fasten the harness tightly. It is not an easy stage. Very slippery at the end.”

Car 46, Al-Ketbi/Hepperle
“I did a good job. I am starting my rally from today. I am happy for my performance.”

Car 70, Kruuda/Jäveoja
“I am not disappointed. It was a very hard stage and by the end, it was getting slippier and slippier.”
