The 2014 Vodafone Rally de Portugal opens on Thursday April 3rd and promises to be a spectacle for fans with a combination of not only the current WRC line up, but historic rally cars too. Once again, the streets of Lisbon will play host to the event, which will be broadcast live on television from 18:00.
The historic cars will start the proceedings in Lisbon from 14:45 when they qualify for the final later in the day. Having completed the 15:00 ceremonial start at Estoril, the current fleet of WRC cars will head to the Super Special Stage and recce the course from 15:30 onwards.
At 17:45 the historic cars will compete in their final, having qualified earlier in the day. Then, at 18:00, the top 22 WRC cars will run the course in reverse order, with the remaining cars then attacking the Super Special Stage three at a time, officially starting the rally in the process. Then it’s back to Algarve Stadium for preparation bore the following day’s tough stages.
Spectators will be able to watch the day’s competing unfold from 15:00, while the Super Special Stage itself will be broadcast live on television from 18:00.
